Ice Breaker 4/14-4/15

Saturday:

Practice started out well.  We had some decent lap times but the motors was just not getting us off the turn well, the good handling of the car made up for the lack of power.  Our second round of practice was slower because of the rubber laid down by the Whelen Modifieds.  We started on the pole of the second heat race but by the first turn we already dropped back a couple spots.  We continued to drop back to 6th place where we finished.  After the race we found out there was a problem with the clutch so we packed up and brought the car to McNamara’s Auto.  The crew worked hard and late to get the ready for Sunday’s feature.

Sunday:

We started 12th and in the first turn we moved up one position and tried to move up another but the lack of power off the turn was holing us back.  Near the middle of the race we lost rear brakes but still turning the same lap times.  We were gaining on the 11 but before we got there, he got loose and bounced off the wall.  We got by on the outside.  The race went green to checker, we finished in 10th place.  Jenn took some great pictures which can be seen on shutterfly.  We also were lucky enough to have Dan Butler put an in car camera in the car, the video can be seen here.

Thanks to John and crew for the opportunity to drive the McNamara’s Auto 02 car.  And a special thanks to All their sponsors.

Practice 4/7/12

Practice did not start out so well for PAR.  The 54 car lost oil pressure while warming the tires and had to get pushed off the track.  Unfortunately that is how the day ended for the 54.  The 02 had a few bugs that we worked out of it and we found a few more to work on before the Ice Breaker.  We were running as fast of lap times in the 02 as we typically do with the 54.  With a little more seat time and a few adjustments, the car should be fast!  The Ice Breaker should be exciting next week!
